Try to create in a world not made for you
After watching many of my friends struggle to create, pulled back by work, but first and foremost by their health (mental and physical), I wanted to create a visual story interrogating the struggles of creating in a society built on productivity. For this I brought in my mother, who after directing and writing plays, creating stories, and building magical worlds for me as a child, has gone blind. The contrast between the pink tones that surround her, and the green suit she wears aims to strengthen the focus on her bandaged eye, still looking for colors and patterns.
Après avoir vu beaucoup de mes amis lutter pour créer, freinés par le travail, mais avant tout par leur santé (mentale et physique), j’ai voulu créer une histoire visuelle interrogeant les difficultés de la création dans une société construite sur la productivité. Pour cela, j’ai fait appel à ma mère qui, après avoir mis en scène et écrit des pièces de théâtre, créé des histoires et construit des mondes magiques pour moi quand j’étais enfant, est devenue aveugle. Le contraste entre les tons roses qui l’entourent et le costume vert qu’elle porte vise à accentuer l’attention sur son œil bandé, mais malgré tout, toujours en quête de couleurs et de motifs.
